Our Solution

Technocrat Xp@ LTD (a.k.a Technocrat IT) a fully Nigerian company has spent the last 5 years primarily focused in research and development of biometrics solutions, developing several systems and processes for biometric implementation. The unique advantage of Technocrat Xp@ is our full understanding of the numerous challenges faced with biometrics and how to use the combined effect of hardware and software to combat it. Our advanced knowledge and experience in Hardware and software gives us the unique vantage point of developing an End-to-End solution, guarantying success. Technocrat Xp@ LTD is offering its expertise, skills, hardware, software, advisory services and its licensed Patent (see our patent Page for details) as a solution to Biometric Challenges in Nigeria and UK. The Patent is already registered in Nigeria. We are making efforts to raise enough finance to register the patent also in the United Kingdom and Globally. We are also focused on helping countries like Nigeria have adequate Biometric identification systems, as without it, crime rate would keep increasing with crime just changing form, shape and location. Also, without proper biometric system that eliminate duplicates in critical areas like national ID or voters register/election, we would keep getting ineffective ‘SELECTED’ political leaders/officials and difficulties in stopping crime. Also, there would be a challenge with proper planning and any meaningful development without an effective system. We would like to use our financial success to champion this biometric revolution for the sake of the countries' future, as we realise that with a SELECTED government, we cannot have an effective Biometric identity system as it shall be a conflict of interest between the national interest and the interest of the selected few. Hence, it needs to be driven from a philanthropic perspective of an individual or company that has nothing to gain from an effective system. We have identified and are prepared for the political frustration and challenges that would come our way, but would continuously plan, strive, pray and hope for the best. We invite you to Partner with us by using our services/products to help you resolve your biometric challenges, and you indirectly are contributing to the future of Nigeria and all underdeveloped and developing countries.

WHY DO WE NEED TO GET IT RIGHT? WHY NOW?

Despite the undeniable and perverse use of Biometrics worldwide, there are inherent challenges with the use of Biometrics. Even the US who are the most advanced in use of Biometrics (FBI,CIA), also have great challenges with it and hence have a Federal task force that does a yearly report on Biometric challenges/progress straight to the US PRESIDENT. So, for effective biometrics, the process and methods need to be continuously evaluated, and improved upon. This is where Technocrat Xp@ adds value. In Nigeria, Biometrics has been recognised as essential to national identity and moving the country forward. However, ALL large scale attempts at biometrics have failed (PENCOM scheme, National ID card, Voters register, SIM card registration e.t.c) with the exception of the e-passport which has met with limited success. (Actual level of success is however still in contention as there is a limited availability of record on how many attempts at double registration it has actually prevented) A major part of this challenge is the impact of the numerous failed attempts. In addition to the wasted /duplicated resources, there is the national security impact, as biometric details of large proportion of the populace is lying scattered in different databases and locations, without adequate protection or privacy policy put in place. By the time we do get biometrics right, we might be faced with a biometric impersonation from data hijacked from these disused systems. So, it is essential we get it right and now.

WHAT WE OFFER:

With our intense understanding and knowledge of the Biometric process and ownership of a critical patent which would be needed to do any effective biometric registration. We are available to provide Components systems, (DDCM or software or servers), or Complete systems (End-to-End Implementation) or even plain consulting service for critical biometric projects. Without using methods as described in our patent, Nigeria and indeed countries like UK will keep having failed or ineffective biometric projects as we have with Nigerian National ID card, Nigeria SIM card registration e.t.c.

Biometric Challenge??:

Despite the undeniable and perverse use of Biometrics worldwide, there are inherent challenges with the use of Biometrics (Kindly refer to the yearly report on Biometrics straight to the US PRESIDENTIAL on Biometric progress and challenges.). Also refer to UK’s failed attempt at National biometrics implementation. (Actual level of success is however still in contention as there is a limited availability of record on how many attempts at double registration it has actually prevented) UK has not been spared from this same challenge as being experienced in Nigeria. However, for UK as a nation unlike Nigeria, Biometric identification is critical for the UK but not essential for National survival, because they have a small geographical and population size, and several systems that work including, very effective and accurate birth and death records, adequate records of all citizens using the Social security system, none of which Nigeria has. A major part of this challenge is that impact of the numerous failed attempts. In addition to the wasted /duplicated resources, there is the national security impact, as biometric details of large proportion of the populace is lying scattered in different databases and locations, without adequate protection or privacy policy put in place. By the time we do get biometrics right, we might be faced with biometric impersonation from data hijacked from these disused systems.

WHAT IS BIOMETRICS?

Biometrics are automated methods of recognizing a person based on a physiological or behavioral characteristic. Among the features measured are; face, fingerprints, hand geometry, handwriting, iris, retinal, vein, and voice. Biometric technologies are becoming the foundation of an extensive array of highly secure identification and personal verification solutions. As the level of security breaches and transaction fraud increases, the need for highly secure identification and personal verification technologies is becoming apparent. Biometric-based solutions are able to provide for confidential financial transactions and personal data privacy. The need for biometrics can be found in federal, state and local governments, in the military, and in commercial applications. Enterprise-wide network security infrastructures, government IDs, National ID cards, Election/Voting, SIM card registration, secure electronic banking, investing and other financial transactions, retail sales, law enforcement (criminal databases), and health and social services are already benefiting from these technologies. Biometric-based authentication applications include workstation, network, and domain access, single sign-on, application logon, data protection, remote access to resources, transaction security and Web security. Trust in these electronic transactions is essential to the healthy growth of the global economy. Utilized alone or integrated with other technologies such as smart cards, encryption keys and digital signatures, biometrics are set to pervade nearly all aspects of the economy and our daily lives. Utilizing biometrics for personal authentication is becoming convenient and considerably more accurate than current methods (such as the utilization of passwords or PINs). This is because biometrics links the event to a particular individual (a password or token may be used by someone other than the authorized user), is convenient (nothing to carry or remember), accurate (it provides for positive authentication), can provide an audit trail and is becoming socially acceptable and cost effective.
